In most cases, people who go for self storage will have family left behind or perhaps even a home that they would like to come back to eventually, all of which are good reasons to leave something behind. The self storage units are typically secured by the renter themselves, and the operators of the self storage do not usually have direct access to the contents inside. This takes care of any security issues and greatly minimizes the risk of theft and property damage. There are also many self storage facilities that offer computer control of their operations complete with security cameras that greatly increase security.
