All about patch
The primary function of a security patch is to lessen the threat posed by a new form of malware. The more complicated the malware, the more complicated the security patch. Complex networks frequently and unintentionally leave security holes that hackers can exploit to their advantage, rendering the system vulnerable to attack. In the "old days," a computer operator used to receive his security patch via paper tape or punch card. He was expected to extract the outdated or flawed portion of the original tape or deck himself and "patch" the replacement in (hence the name).
